I loved the visuals in the beginning. And also, the mystery at the end. As a random note, the two dead bodies at the end sort of made me think of how Zoroastrians don't burry their dead and let them decompose in public, I'm curious who killed those guys, and what the motives of the killer was. I have some Segrus binging to do!
I'm glad you liked it! I believe it still does need some work, particularly with the flow of each sentence and some of my phrases (now that I look back at it). The mystery and visuals are what I tried to capture when I thought up this scene for the story prompt specifically, so there's probably more there without ruining the mystery in some way. Overall, I hope you enjoy reading what else there is of Segrus! (Addendum: interesting fact about the Zoroastrians, thank you.)
The most important thing is finishing the product, you can always refine things perpetually. Are these Segrus stories pieces of an already developed novel, or is it sort of like a serial, where you write more bit by bit?
More of a serial currently, each story a separate [entity]. Ultimately the idea is probably to create a type of Solomon Kane-style novel: multiple longer stories, perhaps some of them expanded from what's here, and ordered to form a cohesive over-arching narrative about Segrus. Ultimately I already have planned multiple recurring villains for Segrus to face off against over time.
That's awesome, that's kind of how Robert Heinlen started too, I like the concept of a serial that corresponds to the prompts, it could probably hard I'd imagine. Keep up the good work!

I haven't missed an Iron Age Media story prompt yet, so finger crossed I can keep it up lol. Thank you for the encouragement.
That's awesome. I was planning on doing twice a month, but my show takes a lot of my time out, but maybe after the holidays I will be able too.
What a fantastic interpretation of the image prompt. As I come to know Segrus better, I find myself liking him quite a bit.
This is a character which has been building inside me for quite a long time now, and I'm pleased to finally give him a voice. I'm glad you like it.
