This one deserves much more work and effort put into it, but the week of writing this has prevented more to meet the deadline for submission to Iron Age Media. I plan on expanding this further with more interaction between the two characters, as well as more meaningful intrigue, at a later date.
I enjoyed this. Looking forward to reading more of Segrus.
I've recently started trying to write my own short stories and I've noticed you've submitted quite a few to Ironage. Have you got any tips on getting a project finished? I seem to be able to start a story but lose confidence and faith midway through, leaving 95% of my stories in limbo.
I'm glad you liked it! There's plenty of Segrus already up, as you've seen, and there will be more coming.
And yes, each of the stories here are submissions to ironage.media. I also had a problem getting any writing projects finished, at least until I began following the prompts. Most of my problem was follow through: I'd have a story in mind, something exciting, but once I sat down and began planning things my mind has trouble conceiving what a whole book would look like. Basically every week I sit down, think up a scene I find interesting, and then only focus on hitting 1000 words. I don't try to worry coming up with a grand story, or an expansive world. I won't say it'll work for you too, but try breaking up what you're trying to write into however small increments you can manage and then tackle just that--1000 words, 500, 100, even less than 50. Once it's done, tackle the next chunk. And then the next. In time, those small chunks will add up.
